The planning commission meeting last month had Mandy Landkammer of the Nicollet County Zoning Commission address the commissioners on the issue of population density in Nicollet County.  The county commissioners are working on a density proposal to control the growth in Nicollet County to preserve the agricultural land and encourage residents to build in the cities.  She gave a very comprehensive report and had maps along to show what they are proposing.

Mike Boulton stated that he and the city clerk had met with city attorney Nierengarten about the Upper Riverview development agreement and that Nierengarten has done the revisions and would proceed with sending it to Farasyn’s lawyer for approval and signatures.

Glenda Beeck, treasurer of the firefighters pension account, attended the meeting to inform the council of the progress made with the Minnesota Firefighters Pension Association.  She stated that the association had been helping them update the Courtland Volunteer Fire Department by-laws.  Glenda had a draft of the revised by-laws for the council.  Schabert made a motion to approve the revised by-laws of the Fire Relief Association.  Kollmann seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

There was discussion on the fire departments reimbursement from the DM&E for use of equipment and their time spent at the derailment site.  The council just wants to make sure that whatever the money is spent on is within the legal guidelines.
