12-11-06 Summary of Minutes

 

 

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Bob Schabert in the Courtland Community Center on Monday, December 11, 2006 at 7:10pm. Present were Kollmann, Poehler and Voges.  Schwartz was absent.

 

Voges made a motion to approve the amended agenda to include streetlights.  Kollmann seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

Poehler made a motion to approve the written minutes from the truth in taxation meeting held on December 4, 2006.  Schabert seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor. 

 

Poehler made a motion to approve the written minutes from the regular city council meeting held on November 2, 2006.  Voges seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

Poehler made a motion to approve the November bills.  Voges seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

Poehler made a motion to approve the Final Tax Levy for $100,079 for the current year, collectible in 2007.  Kollmann seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.  This is a small decrease from the previous year.

 

Schabert made a motion to amend Resolution 06-108 for the Conditional Use Permit for the Courtland Recreation Association to extend the deadline to December 31, 2006.  Kollmann seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

Kollmann made a motion to approve Abdo, Eick & Meyers as the auditing firm for the 2006 yearly audit.  Voges seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

Kollmann made a motion to allow an extension on the past due payment until April 30, 2007.  Schabert seconded the motion.  A roll call vote was taken.  Poehler, Kollmann and Schabert all voted in favor of the motion.  Voges abstained.

 

Schabert made a motion to approve Resolution 06-112 Promoting the Use of Intrastate Mutual Aid Agreements.  Poehler seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

The city clerk asked the council for direction as to what action they would like her to take on the CD’s that will mature on December 31, 2006.  Schabert made a motion that they renew the CD’s and include the interest.  Voges seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.

 

Poehler made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Voges seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all in favor.
